Interior Minister to Hold Key Meeting with PM Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday

President Asif Ali Zardari has entrusted Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi with the task of lowering political tensions between the Sindh and Punjab governments amid rising friction between the two provinces, sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to insider reports, the two leaders held their second meeting in two days at Bilawal House, Karachi, where they reviewed the ongoing political situation and discussed ways to strengthen coordination between the provincial administrations.

Naqvi to Meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Sources further revealed that Mohsin Naqvi is set to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tomorrow (Wednesday) to brief him on his discussions with the President. The meetings come at a time when political rhetoric between Sindh and Punjab has intensified over administrative and relief matters.

Zardari Emphasises Dialogue and Cooperation

During the meeting, President Zardari reportedly advised Naqvi to play a proactive role in defusing tensions and encouraging inter-provincial dialogue. He stressed the need for constructive engagement and mutual understanding between the two provinces to avoid further escalation.

The former president has also instructed Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders to adopt a measured and responsible tone in public discussions, ensuring that differences do not spiral into open confrontation.

The latest political rift emerged following disagreements over flood relief operations, with both Sindh and Punjab governments accusing each other of inefficiency and lack of transparency.
