SHC Rules in Justice Jahangiri Degree Case: Lawyers Cannot Control Court Proceedings

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ruled that lawyers cannot dictate or control the manner in which court proceedings are conducted, while declaring its September 22 order in Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s degree case valid. The constitutional bench observed that if petitioners had objections to the order, the appropriate course of action was to approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan. However, the court noted that no such petition had been filed even after a week had passed.
