KARACHI: The Karachi Police won widespread appreciation on Tuesday after swiftly recovering the missing belongings of a visiting British police officer, just hours after the incident was reported.

According to Airport Police Station House Officer (SHO) Kaleem Khan Moosa, British detective Duncan Verwey had arrived in Karachi with his Pakistani wife earlier in the day. The couple reportedly misplaced some of their belongings at a fast-food outlet located inside the airport premises.

Upon receiving information about the missing items, SHO Moosa said, the police launched an immediate search operation within the terminal. Officers managed to trace and retrieve the lost valuables — including a wallet and other personal effects — and returned them safely to the British visitor.

In a video message shared by the Karachi Police, Detective Verwey expressed heartfelt gratitude to the local force for their prompt and professional response.

> “My name is Duncan, and I’m visiting from London,” he said. “Unfortunately, I lost my coat at Karachi Airport, which had my wallets and keys inside. As a member of the International Police Association, I was able to reach out to colleagues in Pakistan. Thanks to the incredible work of the Karachi Police, my belongings were found very quickly. I’m truly grateful for their help.”

The quick recovery not only impressed the visiting officer but also highlighted the efficiency and dedication of Karachi’s law enforcement in assisting both residents and international visitors alike.
