Gold Prices in Pakistan Decline After Reaching Record High

Gold rates in Pakistan slipped on Thursday, following the downward trend in international markets. According to the latest update from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs. 2,500, bringing the new rate to Rs. 407,778. Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold fell by Rs. 2,144, now standing at Rs. 349,603. This decline comes just a day after bullion touched an all-time high. On Wednesday, the price of gold per tola had surged by Rs. 3,500, peaking at Rs. 410,278—the highest level ever seen in Pakistan’s history. On the global front, gold also experienced a dip. International prices were recorded at $3,865 per ounce (with a $20 premium), reflecting a fall of $25, as noted by APGJSA. Interestingly, while gold prices dropped, silver continued its upward trend. The local market saw silver rates climb by Rs. 13 per tola, reaching Rs. 4,839.
